Younger People Do Not Want To Drive
Younger people do not seem to be that interested in driving as they used to be, the reasons for this, well read on.
Drink
Drink comes into it but not in the way you would expect, it is actually a good thing that this is happening. Drinking is a great thing if you do not do it all of the time and the fact is that it is much better to be walking home than driving when you are drunk? Driving seems like a bit of a pointless thing to do if you are going out to get drunk. It is against the law to drive home drunk, without the car there is no risk of this happening? It is actually the sensible thing to do.
Money
The fact is, many younger people are just not willing to spend large amounts of their money on driving lessons and a car. On top of this there is the insurance and tax to pay and when you add it all up it just gets stupid and most teenagers would rather spend the money elsewhere.
Easier To Walk
Another thing is that walking, cycling or running is kind of in fashion again and it is just as easy to walk 20 minutes down the road as it is to get into the car and drive for a few minutes. IPods have really helped when it comes to younger people walking because it isnt boring at all.
The Alternative
There is of course another option and it comes in the form of cheap car leasing. This is often much cheaper than going to a manufacturers and even cheaper than getting a second hand car. You can even get bad credit car leasing and van leasing if you really wanted too.
So the advice I leave you with is, weigh out all of the options before deciding on not driving. It doesn’t matter if you want to leave it a few years.
